The Government has confirmed that Aero India, the largest military aviation exhibition in Asia, will be held in Bengaluru in February 2019. The confirmation from the Government comes after massive controversy over prior reports that the much-coveted air show which has been hosted by Bengaluru for over two decades may be shifted to another city.
A statement from the Government read: “The Government has decided that the Aero India 2019 venue will be Bengaluru and the event will take place between 20 – 24 February 2019. This five-day event will combine a major trade exhibition for the aerospace and defense industries with public air shows.
“Besides global leaders and big investors in the aerospace industry, the show will also see participation by think-tanks from across the world.”
After massive pressure on the center from the Karnataka State Government, there has finally been a confirmation of the Aero India show 2019 dates. Media reports also claim that Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to hold the prestigious air show in Bengaluru.
There was speculation that the event, organized by the Defence Ministry, would be held in Lucknow where the central Government is building a huge defense corridor but the announcement has now put that speculation to rest and Aero India 2019 tickets are expected to be available online shortly.
With the Aero India 2019 Bangalore dates now being confirmed, one can only wait in anticipation for the one-of-a-kind air show that has once again come to Bengaluru.
